PRESS STATEMENT
The Puntland Counter-Terrorism Operation (Hillaac) conducted an air and ground assault today, February 20, 2025, killing 44 ISIS terrorists who had been hiding in areas surrounding Togga-Jeceel in the Cal-Miskaad mountains.
Ground Operation:
Puntland government forces, conducting operations in the Cal-Miskaad mountains to eliminate ISIS, killed more than 15 foreign ISIS terrorists in ground attacks. The forces have also taken full control of the areas of Dhasaq, Qurac, and nearby locations around Damdamaale, all of which are part of Togga-Jeceel in the Cal-Miskaad mountains and had been strongholds of ISIS militants.
Air Operation:
Puntland’s allies, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), carried out airstrikes today, killing 29 ISIS terrorists. The strikes targeted two locations: the village of Damdamaale, where 22 militants were eliminated, and Damdamaale valley, where 7 more were killed.
The Counter-Terrorism Operation will continue until ISIS militants hiding in Puntland’s mountains are completely eradicated. We commend our people for their unwavering support, solidarity, and vigilance in tracking down any fleeing terrorists.
